Shredding FAQ
Why use an On-Site Shredding company instead of doing it myself?
In-house shredding uses valuable employee time and detracts from core business activities. Leaving “to shred or not to shred” decisions up to staff creates higher potential for employee error or breaches of confidentiality. It does not provide certification that sensitive information has been professionally destroyed. Office shredders are messy, require maintenance, have limited capacity and require an extra step to put shredded material in the trash or recycling stream.
How much does On-Site Shredding cost?
On-Site shredding is very economical. It saves you money and time, and reduces your overhead costs. Contact ALLMOVE to discover how much.
Why is On-Site Shredding better than Off-Site?
Off-Site Shredding poses risks that are not present with On Site Shredding. When your documents are hauled Off-Site, you lose the chain-of-custody of confidential information. Your confidential materials may be handled by several people out of your supervision, which could leave your organization vulnerable to error or fraud that may result in irreversible damage.
ALLMOVE’s On-Site Shredding system reduces these risks. We ensure that all confidential materials are destroyed on your premises, by trained, bonded security professionals on-board our state of the art mobile shredding trucks. You can witness the shredding in progress via close circuit monitor to protect the chain-of custody. And we can shred in minutes what would take hours with a typical office shredder, and you don’t have to worry about noise, dust or waste disposal.
Why is On-Site Shredding better than recycling?
Paper recycling programs do not provide the necessary confidentiality
to meet legislative requirements. The multiple steps in the recycling
process do not have enough built-in security measures to protect against
unauthorized access to confidential information. Confidential paper
placed in a trashcan or recycling bin isn’t gone for good. Cleaning
crews, maintenance staff, visitors or anyone else – including
individuals connected with a firm’s competitors – could
easily access private information left in bins. It is then brokered
or sold to the highest bidder. Your information is sent in a whole
format for anyone to see!
ALLMOVE’s on-site shedding system destroys all confidential materials
on your premises, using trained, bonded security professionals onboard
state-of-the-art mobile shredding trucks. You can witness the process
via closed circuit monitor. Then we recycle everything AFTER it has been
shredded.
Does ALLMOVE conduct background checks on its employees?
Yes. All of our employees undergo criminal background checks and are bonded.

What happens to the paper after it has been shredded?
Our truck holds 10,000 lbs. of shredded material. It then goes to an indoor compound where it is intermixed with other shredded material before being baled and sent for recycling.
How often do you come to shred?
As often as you require our services. It can be daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly depending on the size of your organization and how much paper you produce. An ALLMOVE Sales Representative can help you determine the best frequency and container type for your organization. And you can always make changes as your needs change.
Do I need to sort the paper?
No sorting is required. You also do not have to remove paper clips, staples or binder clips.
I only need a one time shred. Can you help?
Of course. We would be happy to help you, whether you need daily shredding or a one-time annual purge.
What happens if our container is full before the regularly scheduled service time?
Contact us and we would be more than happy to come for an extra shred. If your containers are filling up sooner, we can adjust your frequency or add a container. See Contact Information.
